There is a common perception that the Nigerian society is getting more and more insecure. Although not often backed by statistics, most people interviewed on the subject readily suggest that more people are not only getting into crimes but are also becoming more ruthless, desperate, and sophisticated. Their claims are borne out by daily reports of incessant robbery, kidnapping, and insurgency across the country. The goal of this book is to create awareness of the safety dangers and offer useful suggestions on how State, Local Governments and communities around the country can collaborate to find innovative solutions to the issue of rising crime.
